Whether Type 1 Diabetes is new to your life, or has been a part of your life for some time, it has it’s own unique set of issues that impact you and your family on a daily basis. The emotional impact on the child changes throughout the developmental stages that he/she goes through. How a young child experiences Type 1 Diabetes, will in many ways, change once the child is a teen, and then again as he/she reaches young adulthood. Similarly, parents may realize they have new and unique parenting issues they are now facing with their child with Type 1 Diabetes, that they otherwise would not be facing, or do not have with their other children. It adds a layer of complexity to the already complex world of parenting. And certainly, it goes without saying, that it adds a layer of complexity to the typical challenges of growing up. Dr. Scott not only understands these challenges that the whole family experiences, but is skilled to help you understand them and guide and support you as you work through them. Dr. Scott provides parent consultation, as well as consultation or "coaching" to children, teens and young adults (in person or on Zoom).

Please email Dr. Scott at (drshannonjscott@gmail.com), to schedule a 20 minute complimentary phone meeting to discuss how consultation may work for you and/or your child.
